Did you know? To prepare for the role, Robert Duvall spent considerable time in Scotland immersing himself in the local culture and even lived in the town of Dumfries to perfect his Scottish accent. Many of the scenes were filmed at Palmerston Park, the home of Queen of the South FC. Despite being a fictional character, McLeod’s stoic leadership and “never say die” attitude have made him a cult icon amongst football fans who appreciate the romance of a proper cup run.
