Terry Howard is a true Leyton Orient icon. A tall full-back, he was a cornerstone of the team throughout his impressive 10-year career at the club, from 1986 to 1995. He made a huge number of appearances for the O’s, featuring in 328 games and even scoring 31 goals. His dedication to the club was so great that fans created a chant for him, which famously became the title of his autobiography, ‘OOOH! Terry Howard’. His time at the club is also most famously remembered for his dramatic half-time sacking by manager John Sitton on 7th February 1995, an incident that was captured by the cameras of the fly-on-the-wall documentary, ‘Orient: Club for a Fiver’.
