Europa League: Kilmarnock & Aberdeen in action tonight

Both Aberdeen and Kilmarnock get their European adventures underway tonight after finishing fourth and third in the Scottish Premiership respectively.

First up sees the new Kilmarnock Manager, Angelo Alessio, take charge for his first competitive match after replacing Steve Clarke. His Kilmarnock team are in North Wales to face Connah’s Quay Nomads at 19:00. This is Kilmarnock FC’s first European match in 18 years. Hopefully it’ll be a night to remember for the Kellie faithful who have travelled down to cheer them on.

Kilmarnock have not played European football for 18 years. Can their new manager juggle both the domestic and European challenge?

Then at 19:45 Aberdeen FC take on RoPS. Derek McInnes, who signed a contract extension today, welcomes RoPS of Lapland, Finland, to Pittodrie to get their sixth European campaign in a row off to a start. Will this be the year he gets them into the group stage? Last year saw them knocked out by Burnley but if the performance they put in is anything to go by they should be in with a great shout of progressing.

Aberdeen are regular visitors to this stage of the Europa League but can they finally make the jump into the group stage? Only time will tell.
