Scottish Premiership 2019/20

Scottish Premiership

Saturday, 3rd August

All eyes will be on the SPFL and the Scottish Premiership where all the action kicks off at 3pm on the 3rd August.

The seventh Scottish Premiership competition to be held since the league revamped to the SPFL (note to Sky Sports: it’s no longer the SPL or Scottish Premier League).

As you are aware, Celtic are the defending Champions (if you didn’t know that then I’m not sure where you’ve been the last wee while).

SPFL season 2018/19 saw Dundee relegated from the Premiership while Ross County took their place by winning the Scottish Championship and gaining automatic promotion.

What to look out for this season

Neil Lennon returned to Celtic midway through last season and managed to wrap up 8 SPFL titles in a row and the board have put their faith in him to deliver a 9th Scottish Premiership Trophy to that tally. Can the former Hibs and Bolton Manager deliver?

Will the new Killie manager, Angelo Alessio, be able to juggle league and European duties, and how will he cope following in the significant shadow cast by new Scotland manager Steve Clarke?

Can Steven Gerrard improve on Rangers‘ 2nd place finish and stop Celtic’s march to 9 in a row. Rangers maybe ended the season without a trophy but the board have been utterly unwavering in their support of the form Liverpool playing legend.
