Hillsborough – Sheffield Wednesday
Sheffield Wednesday were formed in 1867. As of writing this that was 152 years ago! Incredible.
They have played football at Hillsborough since 1899.
Forgive me, but these dates blow my mind. When they moved to Hillsborough they had already been in existence for 32 years. Yet even if you took their start date as 1899 it would still make them a fantastically old team.
In 1867 Alaska was still Russian and not an American State. Canada was still under British rule.
With a capacity of nearly 40,000 it gives Wednesday the bragging rights over their red and white neighbours.
