Estadio Campeón del Siglo
I’ve twice visited South America for Football Stadium Prints but both those time saw me go to Argentina.
My third visit sees me head to the capital of Uruguay, Montevideo. Just a boat ride over the Rio de La Planta from Buenos Aires.
Estadio Campeón del Siglo is a 40,000 seater stadium that has room to expand. Built entirely to FIFA standards with the anticipation that World Cup 2030 could be held in Uruguay.
This would mark 100 years since the very first World Cup, which was memorably won by Uruguay. Uruguay would go on to win the competition again in 1950.
